How to Use Your Mobile phone as a Modem.

Lots of friends have been asking of how they can use their mobile phone as a modem to browse the internet on a PC.

This question is mostly asked when a cheat or cheap data plan is introduced.

And they tend not to receive any answer from anyone. I'll be providing an answer to that
In my post below trust me it would be a very helpful one! Its not necessary you get a modem before you browse the internet on your PC you can enjoy it right there using your phone's internet settings.

I know many must have had knowledge of this before "Dial
Up Connection" but Just like Jesus never came for the righteous but
he came for sinners so I will be to some of you today. (lol) .

I’ve come to introduce this connection called Dial Up Connection to some of you that
still do not have knowledge of this or what it is used for.

Dial Up Connection is a connection that allows you to connect your mobile phone to the PC (Your
computer) to browse the Internet.

Most people have been using PC for a while now and imagine you have Much Data on your Sim Card but browsing on phone seem not to be so enjoyable compared to browsing on PC.

On this post today am going to show you how to connect your phone to browse on the PC Using Two Methods. But Method 1 only would be explained for today then on my next post Method 2 will be explained but don't worry it would be a very helpful one.

Method 1

*. Bluetooth Connection Method

*. USB Cable Connection


What you would need to do this:
*. You need to have a built in bluetooth or a bluetooth cable! (Bluetooth Dungle) follow the steps below to set up your device.

Step 1 (Connecting your device to the PC)    

 *. Switch on bluetooth on your mobile phone and set to visible  

*. On your PC, click on the bluetooth icon and navigate to Add a device.

*. A pop-up like “Windows will continue to look for new devices and display them here” should appear. *. Wait until it finishes searching and displays your device.

*. Click on the device and you should see it displaying a pair up Code E.g. 9845126

*. Your mobile phone will be asked to enter that code, once you enter it on the device click pair.

Step 1 Successful.

Step 2 (Setting up for browsing)Follow these steps carefully to set up the device for browsing on the PC.

1.     Go to Control
Panel on your PC, Navigate to Network and Internet click Network and Sharing Centre

2.     Scroll Down to where you see Set up a new connection or network and click. A list of options will be displayed, Click Set up a dial up Connection

4.     You will be required to enter a dial up phone number. Simply input *99#

5.     Ignore the field for Username and Password then in the Connection name input any
name you would like for your connection. In my case I put: jernaiBLOG

6.     Click Connect and you should see a confirmation that you are connected to the Internet (Browse
the Internet Now)

That's all you need, its been setup

Note: Above steps is for windows 7 and any bluetooth enabled phone with internet service provision can be used.
